Olivia Palermo makes a rare fashion misstep as she attends the Jonathan Simkhai NYFW show

The skirt was made from sweatshirt material and featured an cheap fashion shoes hemline and was laced up on one side with a white cord.

Olivia then draped a tan leather jacket over her shoulders which had a PETA-provoking fur collar.

The fashion blogger then finished the look off by wearing a pair of thigh high black suede boots.

While Olivia layered up, fellow front row guest, Hailey Clauson, was dressed in a more summery look.

The 21-year-old wore a white jumpsuit with Broderie anglaise detail and splits up to her knees on either leg.

The halterneck onesie was cut away on either side of the Sports Illustrated model's chest and she threatened to spill out of it as she posed for pictures.

Her style setting ways have made her famous the world over, but even fashionistas make mistakes.

Olivia Palermo usually steals the show but this time she struggled to stand out at the Jonathan Simkhai New York Fashion Week show.

The 30-year-old was not her stylistic best as her arrived to take her Sherri Hill 11066 Red Long Homecoming Dresses in the front row on Saturday night.Sherri Hill 11066 Red Long Homecoming Dresses

It was not that The City star's ensemble was bad, it was more that it was borderline blah.

For the show, Olivia wore a grey ribbed turtleneck sweater with a lighter grey skirt.

Hailey sat in the front row with Lais Ribiero, Niki Taylor and Lindsay Ellingson.

The group of models watched on as they fellow clothes horse Romee Strijd strutted her stuff in the show.

The 21-year-old was dressed in one of the designer's more striking ensembles.

The Victoria's Secret Angel wore a black cropped high necked jacket and high waisted studded pants.

The collection saw a very varied mix of fabrics and styles head down the runway ranging from matching denim ensembles to sheer delicate gowns.

There was also a lot of fur looks with one model wearing just a jacket and thigh high boots.

Designer Jonathan Simkhai made a brief appearance at the end of his show wearing the T-shirt that was given to all his VIPs which said 'Feminist AF' on it.

The proceeds from the online sales of the T-shirt go to Planned mens denali fleece jacket with hood .
